PixelTools
Width times height, converted into the megapixel figure often used to compare displays and cameras.
Marketing names like '1080p' or '4K' refer to vertical or horizontal pixel count respectively, not the total — this calculator gives the actual total pixel count, which is what determines file size and rendering workload.
Rendering workload scales with total pixel count — 4K (3840×2160) has 4x the pixels of 1080p (1920×1080), which is why 4K gaming needs substantially more GPU power than 1080p at the same frame rate.
Total pixels
2,073,600
1920×1080 (1080p) is about 2.1 megapixels; 3840×2160 (4K) is about 8.3 megapixels.
What you entered
Total pixels = width × height
1920 × 1080= 2,073,600 pxConvert to megapixels
2,073,600 ÷ 1,000,000= 2.0736 MPResult
Total pixels: 2,073,600
1920×1080 is 2073600 total pixels, or 2.0736 megapixels.
