Why is the rate I get at my bank different from what Google shows?

Google shows the mid-market rate — the midpoint between buy and sell prices. Your bank adds a spread (markup) to profit from the exchange. Credit cards typically add 1–3%, bank wire transfers 1–2%, and airport exchange booths 5–10%.

How is this different from a live currency trading platform?

This converter uses static reference rates for quick estimates and everyday planning. Live trading platforms stream real-time rates that change every second, include bid/ask spreads, and execute actual trades.
